Finland needs visionary people with the ability and desire to solve big problems. We also need companies with the ability to invest in research, development, and innovation to achieve higher economic growth.

Innovation creates growth and well-being

The Finnish economy is growing from ideas that turn into innovations. Our ability and desire to innovate will determine our future well-being. It is important for the creation of new jobs that Finland climbs back among the pioneers of innovation.

Significant innovations in history have emerged during crises. The crisis is a stimulus that is forces humanity to develop better solutions. Amid global challenges, there is a demand for Finnish know-how. We can offer our strengths as a developer of digitalisation and green transition solutions, among other things.

It is good to consider whether we want to take the future for granted or whether we can influence it. Through innovation, we can create a future full of hope and opportunity, rather than bleakness.

Innovation makes our lives better. It is also the best way to create economic prosperity for a nation. Innovation increases productivity, which then increases opportunities for better incomes, higher profits, new jobs, new products and a prosperous economy.

A vision is a picture of a better world made possible by a product or service. Fascinating visions inspire investors, employees, customers, and most importantly, stakeholders who speak for the company.

The vision of U.S. President John F. Kennedy was to enable man’s journey to the moon and return to earth. Our vision today is linked to solutions to keep the planet viable for future generations.

Innovation creates work

Finland has long been among the most innovative countries. It is worrying that Finland has recently fallen from the forefront of innovation.

To succeed, Finland needs visionary people with the ability and desire to solve big problems. We also need companies with the ability to invest in research, development, and innovation to achieve higher economic growth. Small improvements to existing products alone are not enough, we need big innovations. Our big challenge is an aging workforce and a shortage of skills. We need not only international experts but also foreign investment.

At Business Finland, we help companies operating in Finland to succeed globally, develop sustainable solutions and boldly renew their business. We support the cooperation of companies and research groups so that new openings develop into solutions. The total expected results of the R&D projects funded in 2021 are almost 25,000 new or renewable jobs.

Long-term growth is only possible if ecological and social sustainability is taken care of. Climate change is one of our biggest challenges, but it also has opportunities.

Innovation saves the world and saving the world is good business.
